Boomer. I am in between jobs. Laid off in 10/21 after 16+ yrs, with an ABA firm. RIF. Still on excellent terms. Took my time living off generous package and didn’t seriously start applying until 01/22. Made a rookie mistake and accepted first offer.
Turns out job wasn’t as advertised. Mutual parting of ways 3/22. Due diligence is critical.
Now interviewing a LOT. Some temp work, I still have “it”. I relate to all gens. Willing to mentor AND learn from all. Tech savvy, CTE from day one. Leads?

Resume question I've had three positions over my career one of which lasted 3 months and that I got fired from, the job search took an additional 2 months. Is it worth it to leave the 3 month stint off my resume? It might be easier to explain getting fired then a 5-month gap I was thinking

I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. How hard is it going to be to for me to find a new job? Should I just stay and try things out? What next?

I was recently laid off and I am actively search for a new role. I am mainly targeting Business Analyst, ScrumMaster, Product Analyst, roles but I am open to others.

I seem to go through this cycle where I'll try to fix a problem, fix it and then go back to my old ways. I'm trying to fight against it but basically my performance review is coming up and I think it's likely I'm going to be let go because of my failure to meet expectations. Earlier in the year I was going through a rough time and working through it, I have gotten better over the course of the year but I feel it's not enough. I got fired from my last job. What’s the best way to negotiate more money during a contract to FTE conversion? My manager and I had the conversion convo today and he said he’d like to convert me immediately and took the action item to do so. In terms of comp he said they should already have what I’m expecting but I don’t think I communicated any FTE number to my contracting company. In this job market with all the layoffs, should I count my blessings and take what I can get or is there wiggle room.
