Coach
I can give you some insight from my time at C1 and can confirm the components of their interview process.
C1 looks for human-centered thinking, business acumen, strategic foresight, structured thinking, analytical prowess, and creativity.
Power days are usually 8 hours - my peers who are still there have said it’s been shortened over the pandemic to account for the remote environment.
Depending on your level, they typically have…
2 job fits - likely with the HM and another leader (usually 30 minutes each) (maybe an hr if one is with the HM)
2 behavioral interviews (usually by people at your level)
A 1 hr. product case that will combine: context setting/ideation/strategy/calculation/analysis/recommendation)… in no specific order
A 1 hr. Business analysis case (only a set # of people in the entire org. are designated to give this case) - this will test your patience and ability to make a recommendation based on quantified set of outcomes
Design thinking case (usually requires pre-work) - you collaborate with your design interviewers across empathy mapping/problem definition/target market identification/concept dev’t./MVP definition
They’ll unpack your interview performance as a quasi-consensus. One detractor is not going to ruin your chances. But it’s well known the case is weighed heavily in your hire/no-hire recommendation.
I could be a little off base with SOME of the above but not by much.
Also, my peers joined C1 before the pandemic so they’re not sure if the design challenge is still a component and they’re uncertain if there are still 2 cases.
Just had my Power Day on Tuesday. The first formal step was a 1 hour mini case. If you pass that then you proceed to a Power Day which consisted of four 1 hour interviews (Product Case, Product Skills, BA case & Job Fit). I didn’t have to do any take home assignments. Still waiting to hear back on results 🤞
I can’t remember the specific question but would recommend you think about the business value of each product / how they can or do make money from each.
A friend of mine just started the interview process there. I can ask for feedback if you want.
That would be great!
Good luck! I don't have any experience, but I'm not surprised they have a long interview process. They're supposed to be a great employer.
