There seems to lots of TA on here and I have a burning question! If you are to receive a call or and email from an agency, what do you want to hear from them? What would get you thinking it was worth your time to entertain them?

Talk to my LinkedIn profile and my prior experience - don’t try and sell me on a move that has no alignment to my prior experience or future trajectory. Be transparent about the salary range. I don’t have time to waste and I’m sure you don’t either so don’t waste an hour of our precious days to only then disclose the salary banding is $100K. Tell me upfront about the type of workplace it is - are we talking about flexible work, 2:3 hybrid model? All these things matter and will make a conversation, assuming we have initial alignment, so much smoother.

That you actually read my LinkedIn profile and you think the role could be a good fit. I say what types of opportunities would be of interest to me in my About section, so link it to that. Anything super unrelated is not worth my time. It also demonstrates that I’m one of many [former] consultants you are reaching out to.

Being upfront about the salary would be nice too.

Left PA and started industry remotely. Haven’t been in the office. Met my team one time. Tips are to always be on video for even the smallest of calls. Take a ridiculous amount of notes. In downtime, go through your notes and come up with questions by reperforming old work. Set up recurring question sessions with your team so you know what to do next time. Set up performance meetings even monthly because it’s hard to get a gauge on your performance

What do I do come wintertime for boots? Do you wear them while you're in the office? Or do you bring dress shoes with you to change in to? I wear a suit to work, so what boots would be good for winter but also look decent with a suit? This is my first winter in Chicago (a socal transplant)

My hands are shaking!! I just got off a call with my toxic manager who is clearly not happy I am being poached for another division. I tried to hold firm as he attempted to 20 question me, who was it, who wants me, what division, how did they find out about me? And of course the gaslighting of “why didn’t you come to me I could have helped or made introductions”. Clearly everything is about him. How have you handled such situations? What could I have done better with my abusive manager?

I have been interviewing nonstop since I lost my job early September. Rejection after rejection burning through my savings. I picked up some freelance and reached out to a previous boss.
Yesterday I received 3 calls, one from my old boss he was putting in a job req to have me rehired, the second was that a job I have been interviewing for was going to present me an offer today and the third was a job offer (but that role was not a fit for me) i am super concerned with burning bridges - help

⚠️Toxicity Alert ⚠️

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

Now 8/10 teammates have switched within < 1 year of project start (6-7 months with him) which tbh had good work in our opinion and even team was fun to work with even though none of us ever met in person.
