Yes that's what EY said that they will help us transfer cause they want to keep us, but they are not doing much. Going through the interview process and all that can be a pain
I didn't get selected this year either and was thinking about going to Canada. Honestly I don't have a preference but it sounds like Canada has an easier transition. You said EY is helping you getting a new job right now? What have they been doing to help? Are they helpful? I will go thorough the same process soon😞
3 years to get a greencard on L-1B visa! 😎
Canada crossed my mind too, but so did Australia haha. Assuming that I could come back to US in a year or two. But since we don't know that for sure Europe sounds more safe.
Haha yess
Yes a rotation Would be perfect, But since i dont have The right to work here I doubt I can do a rotation program
OP, most of the people I know who found places at other offices after not getting H-1B received two year contracts (similar to rotation) and their home office is working to sponsor their H-1B so they can return in future. Don't give up! Try to get an office somewhere to take you so you can stay with the firm and then try to work out a plan to come back to the US if you want
EY5, RE, RCP, HCLS?
Are you a British citizen?
No, but I am from Europe
I'm guessing EY US won't sponsor you for s green card? I would imagine it would be quiet easy to transfer. Firms always need associates, so if you've got to leave the country because the US won't sponsor you, I don't see why London wouldn't take you as a transfer
You need to work 6 years on a working visa before you can apply for a green card.
A girl from my group transferred to EY London from FAAS to TAS. She said it actually wasn't that difficult and very easy to do. I believe she initiated it and reached out to their TAS group. It took awhile for her visa application to be processed but she's there now actually.
When I was at EY a girl in our group transferred to London after not getting H1-B. She had to contact that office directly and push through HR but ultimately the firm wanted to keep her even if she could stay in the US. She's on a 2 year contract and the US firm filed for her H1-B this year (rejected again) in prep for her returning at some point.
From seeing others experiences with not getting H1-B I think the best thing is to try and find your own route. HR will say they are trying to help but I've seen then not be all that helpful :(
Yeah HR EY doesn't do much..except tell you to contact somebody. My SM is trying to reach some people in London to make it easier. We shall see
Intra-company transfer is easier if they have the need and you have the specialty they're looking for. My advice, choose your client wisely and ensure you have a niche or specific industry focus.
What level do you have to be to be able to transfer?
At least Senior level
Are you from the SD office working in OC?
