is it worth it to shift to IB or MBB after 7 years in the big four(audit and fdd)? I do think IB and MBB are interesting fields that you can acquire unique skill sets and a good network. But I don’t think I couldn’t keep up already for a daily grind. The reason why I did not pursue it earlier in my career is that I am not from a target school and I do not have an MBA. lol thoughts?

I’ve recently transitioned from Travel Customer Service role (8 YOE) to Analyst in the same LOB. Earlier I resolved travel queries through calls/emails, but now my role is to analyse travel spending on Amex cards. Now I want to remain in analysis field and grow. I currently only use SQL, Power-BI and MS-Suite. What should I learn further? Which tools or is there a course I should do? I’ve only done Graduation and thinking of doing PGDM in Data Analytics or BI.

I’m a new manager and got added to a new engagement. Everything is overmy head. Usually I catch up within a month. But this engagement is very very different. It will take me a while to get a hang of. The positive is that there is a lot of learning. But I had goals of being a sm in a year or 2 and I don’t see that happening in this engagement. How do you let a director know it’s really not professional to keep re-scheduling the meeting? This is the 4th time a new time is proposed. And it’s one of my pet peeves.

Seeking insights & any advice. F🐟 , late 20’s, never married, no kids; in a relationship with a divorced dad of 2, things are getting serious. So much that’s new for me & I’m wondering if anyone has been through something similar & how they navigated taking that serious next step? What things did you discuss (I’m thinking finances, family dynamics, involvement with kids, premarital counseling etc). It’s also an interracial relationship. I mostly worry about his kids, want them to be okay!

If you were still in undergrad would you prefer 1. Go back to campus and have an in person/hybrid learning experience with restrictions on social life
2. Have your school go fully remote for the entire fall semester
3. Defer for a year and resume your education fall 2021 when things will hopefully be “normal”

I’m totally empathetic to people that miss offices and traveling. I understand your reasons why, I truly do.

For me personally, after non-stop weekly travel for 4 straight years, not traveling has made me realize how much I enjoy being home. Spending time with family, sleeping in your own bed, consistent exercise schedule, etc.

I for one hope consulting becomes more of a hybrid travel model (i.e. travel 1-2x per month or as needed). Else it won’t be for me.
