Okay, so I have pretty bad cystic acne, clogged pores and enlarged pores. I’ve been using curology and a mild dermatologist recommended soap. I just got a really great offer, only downside is the eligibility for maternity leave is after 12 months of employment. We got a faint positive today but have had so many chemical pregnancies over the past year that I am not confident it will stick this time BUT I am on aspirin and progesterone for this try … so it could.. Bad faith lawyers out there- do you have success getting extracontractuals with blown policies that were achieved via technicalities or borderline deceptive set-ups? Do juries punish a carrier when their check is lost the mail due to a hurricane and a day late or some poor defense attorney accidentally left one line off of a release?

For Plaintiff's attorneys, how big is your caseload? What kind of cases are the majority of them and are they in suit? I am currently handling 150+ mostly MVAs and premise liability cases, just about all in suit, (on top of about 10 DUIs and other small traffic matters) and I feel like I'm drowning and looking to jump ship. What is normal/to be expected? In NYC area if that matters

Has anyone ever dealt with Geico UM case where they insist that a release needs to be signed? Geico extended our client’s policy limits but wants him to sign a release. We offered to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of funds but Geico said without a release signed, they will not issue payment.

I give my cell phone to all clients routinely. However, there are always 1 to 2 clients who abuse this and it seems as soon as their cases are over I find a new one and it is making me rethink. I hate to do this because 98% do not abuse it and I like being connected to my people. Thoughts??

Hi all, new-ish associate here at a Virginia firm - quick question: if a pleadings filing deadline for a GDC case ends up being on a Saturday or Sunday, does that mean that it can actually be filed by that following Monday since the court and clerk's office will be open then?

Mine called my personal cell phone on Christmas Day to ask me the status of her case while I was in the middle of watching my kids open presents. I’d just talked to her the week before and told her that the defendants had 30 days to respond.

I'm a 6th year attorney in NYC. Strictly defense work; started out with the City Law Dept, did a year and a half of med mal/construction, and for past year and a half have been at a well known defense firm working on high exposure construction accident cases. Sent 2 policy limits demands. Adjuster offered $60k both times because they don’t see a “causal relationship” without offering us any articulated supporting facts.

The insured is a Radiologist, he appears to own a home valued over $2M.

Is this policy open? Best approach? Thoughts?

I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures. I hate this profession/career more and more each year. Has anybody been successful breaking off on their own in recent years? Advice?
