Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.
Nagarro

Don’t do it. Not even due to ethics. If he doesn’t like you I can see that backfiring.
That seems a bit much
I’m saying this now
The senior manager reading this like
👁 👄 👁
You should not book hours to a code unless you've worked on it (because it's tinesheet fraud and misleading), so I like the idea of asking for some stuff to actually do on that project (even if it's only reading) to justify the time. The senior manager may actually be trying to help you with some utilisation. But if they give you nothing to do, then in the timesheet comments, I would only book time to that code if I included a comment along the lines of 'time charged as requested by xxxxx on dates' to protect yourself.

Probably wouldn't. If they give you trouble over it, contact HR. Def against any firm's policy.
You could always ask if you can actually look over some of the engagement work, that way you can actually charge time to it. How much time are they asking you to charge? Is it like one or two days worth or one or two weeks
At a minimum this feels so weird. When I read it my immediate thought was ewwwww
But I kinda get it , makes them look better - like they delegated
Then again won’t lie so is this group 😆 ….
If the SM put it in writing then I don’t think he’s trying to screw you. He probably needs lower level time in the code for the economics. I’ve seen much shadier time charging (not by me but by higher ups)
I agree
You're fine, I've done this to help others with low util. several times. The code I have them bill it to is either fixed fee or has a built in gain to absorb the cost. Basically your time doesn't get billed to the client and helps you with util. If they are asking you to do this and don't like you, it's likely coming from higher up and they're pissed they need to lose some of the gain on their codes/budget to help you. Just do what they say, if it was shady they wouldn't put it in an email
Here’s the thing if they want me out
They ll find a way to get me out one way or another
It’s an email 📧 written
It’s hard to prove I didn’t work on it
I’m also seriously wondering if this job is worth it
I'd feel better that they're asking you to charge extra time, not like they are asking you to take off hours you worked. A lot of times I've seen margins too high and if we have to give a client an hourly breakdown, it can create issues for fixed fee engagements if there's a big gap between fees and hours.
