I'm glad we don't do that here. I would be livid. Christmas Eve is our third busiest night of the year. Everyone is working.
Yes, and it’s usually managers with more money that have kids. It’s like a life style optic I swear.
Nobody will admit it, but that is 100% what happens where I work. Those with kids always, year after year, have the holidays off. I have family I like to see too!
Nope. Not having kids doesn’t mean I don’t have a life or family that wants to see me. PTO should be first come, first serve period. Kids should not factor into it.
Definitely not. All people should have equal access to their family and friends, regardless of parental status, it would be unfair to individuals who make a choice to not have children and allow those who did to get “dibs” on scheduling
I don’t think it’s fair. There should be equal opportunity. To me it feels like ppl and smoke breaks. I had a boss tell me once that I couldn’t take a few minutes here and there for fresh air. So I started bringing in honey sticks. I’d take a break right after my smoking co worker. If the boss came out to say anything I’d stick the honey sticks in my mouth.
No. My policy is , the first to request off gets the time off. If people wait too long, they get told no. Children on not.
