Im 5.7yrs - currently working as Software engineer in Fidelity Investments . Working late after 7pm IST not suitable to me. Got an offer with Standard chartered bank with 18.5 inhand and Barclays with 20 inhand. Standard Chartered as Specialist - Product Engineer and Barclays as BA4 Both are mentioned as promotions. Which one would be better to go? based on benefits and promotion given to me? In Fidelity investments, we will be getting year end gifts.. will any company provide such benefits?

1.5 hours a week, I've only been here a year though. That double standard would drive me nuts. It might be entirely out of your control, but that wouldn't stop me from at least asking, especially after ten years there.

We are plagued by inconsistency and favoritsm. Maybe it is time I take my skills elsewhere...
Ugh, 2 hours/week after 10 years feels low. Unlimited for managers can be a perk, but it doesn’t always mean they use more. It’s possibly worth negotiating in your next review, I would argue that with your tenure and industry standards this is very low. I accrue 5 hours a week and I've been in my company for 5 years.

4 hrs/week would be amazing….
We have an unlimited PTO policy. A huge perk, but for me it made up for the lack of salary for the job. I feel like in the nonprofit world, it is those kinds of things that really shine. Trying to negotiate for it would be a priority to me, especially after so many years, but you know your company best and would love to hear if you think it is a possibility.

I've come to them before asking for an add’tl $1.50/hr a s got denied, so I'm not feeling particularly hopeful, but I have nothing to lose. Curious- you mentioned you have unlimited pto. How much do you typically take each yr?
I get 8 hours/paycheck and 80 will carry over. They also double all the illegally unpaid overtime hours. So I get like 3-4 weeks minimum per year.
I get six hours of PTO every pay period. Our sick time and PTO is all in one pot so we don't have seperate sick days. Its a pretty decent accrual rate if you ask me. I have worked plenty of places that offered less.

Wow, having your sick time and pto combined is LUCKY. I have like 200 hours of extended sick bank hours….
