Thoughts on leaving position in PwC CM DDV group for small (80-100 employees) rapidly growing boutique that is not well known outside my current city. Pay is slightly more (but not anything to brag about) and mostly looking for other exp. than M&A and better WLB. Completed all the interviews and had positive feedback but before the offer I spoke with the recruiter (third party) and asked them if I can get to a certain compensation number as I might have couple other offers around that number but they got back saying the firm has decided to move on as they cannot match it. What can I do now? Still interested in the role.

Is a role as a QA at a growing tech company a dead end role? For me, jumping from consulting to a traditional QA role would provide a lot of great exposure to software development but I don’t want to get stuck within a skillset and I’d like to leverage that experience to get into Product.
