It’s not enough. Housing is crazy
Depends on your liabilities. If you have kids - will not be comfortable.
However without kids it should be fine however rent is expensive in main London. One option is rent or buy outside London / commutable distance. Will be cheaper and relatively bigger home. But downside will be expensive commute. However if it’s hybrid working with 2-3 days commute to office then should be fine.
Try to negotiate to get more if you can as taxes are higher too in UK.
Depends on the lifestyle - if you’re ok with flatsharing (which is a norm in London) you’ll be fine
If you don’t have any dependents or debt, you should be fine. It could be tight if you want to live alone but you’d be decently comfortable if you’re willing to go for a flatshare or property guardianship. Do check if your work will provide private medical insurance (PMI) though—the NHS has been absolutely gutted so I have to use my PMI for most things (but it’s much better than in the US). Google Martin Lewis for all things UK personal finance related.

More than I make. You’ll be fine
If you have no dependants and are not looking to buy a home here then you'll be fine.
If you’re open to flat sharing, it will be fine and you can live in a decent proximity to London. I’ve seen plenty make it work. Those that want their own flat, you must plan to live a bit further out of the city, which is really manageable given transit.

Go on Rightmove and Crystalroof and check prices and conditions of flats in areas you would want to live in. In nicer (read: American heavy) or closer in areas you’ll need to budget £2.5k-£3k/month for a one bedroom if living by yourself.
I am expecting a similar offer and was wondering the same thing. I make more than double this in NYC
No M1. My firm doesn’t have locations elsewhere. The market is very bad. Even if we did, we wouldn’t transfer people. Layoffs have been hitting law firms across the US and UK all year. England is my dream.
Just keep your US salary and work remotely in London for a few months out of the year. No one will check your VPN history even though you're not suppose to do this for tax reasons. Best of both worlds, keep your higher salary and enjoy London.
