It seems to be a notch below UT-Austin and Rice University.
Have you considered the free MBA being offered by EY for all EY employees through Hult business school? Hult may rank higher..
I know SMU MBAs who come in at entry level analyst at Accenture, and that too not in Strategy. So not worth it IMO
Study harder and go to a better school if you can. Going to a subpar MBA program isn’t worth it for someone at EY.
I have no comment on the program, sorry, but I can speak to the location!
The area (University Park) is pretty nice. Close to uptown, which is the heart of Dallas “youth culture” (downtown is more business than residential). The school is pretty in a classic sense. It has good reputation for students, and our firm regularly hires undergrads from there. We don’t offer much by way of perks for MBA, so it’s not a huge hiring area for us.
DFW is a booming metropolis, and not a bad place to put down roots and network.
Top 15 or bust is a good attitude to have when you're considering business school for consulting, and doubly important if you are paying for it. Cox is ranked 43rd in US news. Not worth it.
Top consulting firms do not treat Cox as a core school for recruiting. They may have a couple alums that made it into the top firms, but they are the exceptions.
It has weight in Dallas overall, but if OP is looking for a consulting job at a firm more prestigious than their current employer (EY), they'll have a much better chance getting into the Dallas offices of MBB/T2 with a Kellogg or other Top15 MBA than a Cox MBA.
Lol you said cox
Thanks for the info, good to know!

It’s considered as premium if you wanna stay in Dallas.
UTD is cheaper and down the street. But overall neither would add much value in consulting world.
I would probably just light $140k on fire tbh
