Are they the same as the ones at JFK?
I kind of like them as a lot of people seem to want to wait at the #4 position and I can just cut past them and get to #1
K1: My thoughts exactly. Maybe there needs to be an adjustment period to the new process.
S1: yup I try to use the same tactic. I noticed also that if you don’t get both your bins on the line, your second bin might be 4-8 bins later after the first one causing a pileup on the back end too. Quite a mess
I love lga terminal d security vs terminal c because of the motorized bin dispensers. The USA is catching up to the rest of the world
Are you talking about the automatic bin dispenser?
Ey1: yup, and the motorized track that’s moves the bins for you. Seems to cause to much confusion for normal tourists lol
Yeah I think it’s worse then just putting the luggage on the belt ourselves... people always forget to cleanup the bins and it creates a backlog mess
It’s pretty slow and requires an extra tsa employee just to make sure people know what they are doing
The worse. I don’t understand why anyone believes this saves time or is remotely efficient. It causes so much confusion.
I experienced this at DFW and it absolutely wasn’t more efficient because they make you put your bags in bins. There was a lot of confusion about that
These things suck! I have been to probably 4-5 airports that use them and I don’t see any benefit in them. Maybe easier for TSA? But from outside observation doesn’t look like it
There is no getting used to it even for experienced travelers. ATL has had them for a long time in the Clear and Pre lines and it is still a fiasco.
Md1.. that’s also because the TSA agents can’t figure out the order in which to load them in the X-ray machine and add to confusion
FIFO seemed to work just fine.
M1 LGA C terminal has them on the precheck lanes.
