It really depends on where you want to come in to a facility. And even what you define as a post house. Is it a boutique editorial company like Cut + Run or a studio like the Mill? Do you expect to move laterally as an editor? Where are you at in your career, can you bring your own clients? How’s your reel?
Directly contact the EP and ask to meet/ have a call. In my experience a lot of them will take you up on this even if they aren’t really looking to hire at the moment and regardless it’s great to make those contacts. Be prepared to discuss what you specifically like about the work they are doing and what clients you might be able to bring with you.
First thing they’re gonna ask is how much $ in billing are you gonna bring their company.
