Oh Mi Tierra is really fun to go for Mexican pastries too.
Wad just given the suggestion of Rosarios for lunch by a local. Short drive off the riverwalk. Which team were you rooting for?
Thanks. Randomly enough went there last night already. Not here for the game, just getting away for a couple days.
http://www.mainplaza.org/ there is a light show that is displayed on the oldest cathedral in Texas downtown that tells the history of San Antonio which is pretty cool. Of course see the Alamo. Visit the Pearl District for dinner. Cured is good for charcuterie. Biga on the Banks downtown is top notch as well as Gwendolyn. The river boat rides are kind of fun if you're not looking to travel far. For Mexican, La Fogata is the best but you'll have to get off the river walk. In fact, don't really do Mexican on the river walk. It's good but not true to really good Mexican.
Thanks!
There's also a bar in the Guenther hotel which is pretty good. The hotel is over 100 years old and supposedly haunted. Oh and they do ghost tours of downtown which is part history and part ghost stories. Another way to see the city without having to drive too far.
Ha! The Guenther is where I was staying. Had no idea about the history.
