Quick qstn - I'm receiving HRA of 24075 from my employer but I would like dhow the rent paid as 96k p.a (while filing ITR). Even if I do so, I was only able to get exemption of 24075 from gross. Checking if we can speak to payroll department to increase Actual HRA since I'm actually paying more rent than compared. Will I be able to do so ?Deloitte Newco EY Accenture Genpact KPMG

They won’t budge too much unless it’s from Lighthouse. You’re best off going to FAANG for engineering roles
How much does the lighthouse bands differ from non lighthouse? People say 130 for SA is the high end of the band.
Came in as an associate and negotiated from $70-75k a few years ago. As D1 stated though, industry is probably your best bet to maximize salary in an engineering role.
Ah thanks for that. My offer is at 135k and I’m trying to go up. It’s in a tech group so budgets are higher it seems
I came in as a tech arch/senior engineer and was able to bump them up about 20% iirc.
For an SA 130 is top of band(would break most) as far as I know. It’s already in M territory though on the low end.
I can say it’s HCOL
How many YOE
Very insightful answer. Based on that it seems like the potential pay cut you may have to take might be worth it in the long run. As someone who also came from industry I can attest to both the ability to work with a range of different clients and being exposed to new technologies as well as office flexibility as someone who moved cities during my time here.
