When comparing comparable firms, yes
Pretty much. All the midsize firms I’ve been at are exactly the same. Even their kool-aid tastes the same - they say the same stupid things about why their firm is “different”. The outlier is when I worked at a small office that had only one location and about 10 employees. That was super weird and not like the others at all. Had to turn and run - there were literally domestic arguments happening between a partner and their SO who worked the front desk. Screaming at each other in common areas. It was bad.
I agree with this on the bigger firms, but do think it can vary at smaller firms.
Slightly different shades of misery, but misery none the less.

Different culture, hiring and promo practices … technology also makes a difference.
