Isn’t the + suppose to cover the entire spectrum outside of LGBTQ?
Just say “letter people”, they’ll get it.
Everyone wants to be special, just like everyone else. What do IAP+ even mean?
This is as bad as BIPOC instead of POC…the plot has been lost.

I’d avoid that. Conservatives like to say “alphabet people” as a term of derision. You may not send the message you think.
I was aware of the “IA” acronym additions. Those have been around for awhile. But, the “P” is new to me. Literally just took a diversity training workshop. The moderator was part of the queer community and they were still using LGBTQIA+. That said, good to know. I’ll keep it in mind moving forward.
But, my real question is if there is a plus sign at the end of the acronym, shouldn’t that cover off on the emerging gender identities and orientations? Or, does a letter get added to the acronym when a big portion of the queer community starts to identify with it? And, if that’s the case, who makes that decision? GLAAD’s executive board, or is it put to a vote? Or, is it something that just starts to happen organically within the community?
If anyone knows, I’m genuinely curious.
I thought + meant “has HIV” cuz they have a history of being stigmatized and its most common among gays
IAP+? Where do these updates happen

People of the rainbow? Gtfo. But I do agree that we need to be a little more forgiving when people try. All this chastising when the intent is there has to stop. It just creates posts like these
Green seems more lesbian to me. Orange=definitely gay.
I love my lgbtq neighbors but I stopped adding letters after q …just +. Peace and love.
I still think ‘Rainbow’ is best.
This is exhausting and it isn’t at the same time. I’m curious for when they start adding numbers and special characters like a strong password.
You can say queer community if you’re trying to avoid saying ten letters.
A scornful look? Heavens to Betsy! Are you OK?
How about “LGBTX”
Lesbian gay bi of Texas?
