TOGAF certification prep time? Any value long term and outside consulting?

Just got a rousing pep talk from my partner about how being a partner in public accounting is the “greatest career anyone could ever dream of”. Feel like he’s still trying to talk himself into it, too.

For those that have switched from Big 4 to MBB, how was the switch and any advice?

I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. What has better WLB and comp, being a heme onc physician or climbing the ranks of D/SD/VP in R&D or commercial strategy for an oncology line? Not taking into account initial path to get to these positions.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Had they come to us, our partners would have recommended a phased digital transformation journey to enhance value maximization and increase share of wallet. We’d do this by implementing SAP, Workday, and Salesforce using power point based accelerators to create a 360 degree view of the customer that empowers the frontline, increases loyalty and enhance employee collaboration. We’d still be in pilot assuming start date similar to McK.

Recent college grad doing IT audit at a fairly well-established accounting firm (not Big 4, but top 10). College was good but not Ivy League or anything like that. Grades were around 3.4-3.5.

If my goal is to maximize my chances of working for MBB, which of these paths would you personally take?

1.) Stay on current team, try to get promoted as fast as possible

2.) Stay at current firm but try to switch from risk advisory to a management consulting team

3.) Get an MBA

4.) Other?

I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed?
