Unfortunately, just gotta roll with it as best you can. It’s hard. I took naps during the first few weeks when my nausea was terrible. I was also still commuting on the subway during this period, and that was ROUGH. the only thing that helped me was smelling naturally lemon essential oil (make sure it says limon on it, at least in ingredients). Preggie pop drops also worked well for me. Couldn’t handle much food, so ate what I felt like. YOU GOT THIS. 💕💕✨✨✨🙌🙌🙌🙌
First trimester is the worst. Thank goodness we were wfh and I had summer Fridays during it. Every afternoon was a nightmare with nausea and fatigue. At 12 weeks, it’s almost like it flips a switch. I’m almost at the end of trimester 2 and it’s been a huge change. I drank a lot of ginger tea and blocked out nap time as “thinking time” every afternoon. I’d work ahead the evenings before to make up for it. You’ll get through it! But it’s tough.
yes this is a great point! there IS an end to the nausea. around 12 or so sounds about right. the entire experience is a roller coaster of feelings both physically and mentally. there are some great periods and others that test you. you got this. 💕
Talk to your ob about a combo called b6 and unisom. It helped me a bit. I chewed these Gins Gins all day long. Hang in there friend. It’s incredibly hard but you’ll get through this and sleep as much as you can.
I’m nine weeks now and unisom and b6 are helping. I’m still experiencing nausea but it has improved. And unisom is helping me sleep through the night more easily
I had morning sickness bad for the first few months. Different things work for different people but for me, I had ginger chews with b6 right before bed, sipped lemon water during the day with a piece of fresh ginger, had half water half Gatorade if I got sick, and (miracle of all miracle pills) took a tablet of unisom at night. When I woke up each morning, I would eat carbs before even standing up (toast, cereal, bagel) and that helped the stomach sloshing. It went away after 16 weeks but man that was a rough ride!
Such good advice! Was the same, and everyone knew I was pregnant long before I actually said anything bc the am sickness was so bad. You will get through this!! And soon will be a memory, and second trimester will get so much better.
Would also add, B12, unisom, bagels and coffee! Check out “expecting better” by Emily oster. Incredibly helpful. Doesn’t have an opinion, just shares the data- says no harm to have a full/real coffee a day! Unisom also miracle.
Congratulations!
After having 24/7 nausea and vomiting for the first 12 weeks, I finally caved and got a prescription and really wished I hadn’t waited to so long. I had tried every other remedy and recommendation at that point and nothing had truly helped. You will get through it ❤️
Hang in there momma i’m at 12 weeks and have had a terrible first trimester filled with nausea and vomit. I keep my team updated and started working odd hours compensating for the time i had to be offline because 🤮🤮. Its supposed to get better at 14 weeks. Lots of small snacks, get medicine if you need it and dont stress about work, it will only make it worst
Sorry you’re feeling so rubbish. Mine too kicked in around 7 weeks. I remember having to get on a flight from Australia back to NY and crying in my sisters pool thinking of transiting! Carrots and iced coffee were the only things that got me out of bed in the morning. And be kind to yourself, you’re growing a human and it’s exhausting. X
I hear you. I'm 16 weeks now and feel like a new woman. It was rough. If you're WFH, take a nap over lunch. I second the gatorade and watered down ginger ale. Bagels also strangely helped. But take comfort that it will likely get better in the second trimester.
Oh gosh yes, this is rough. I found that grazing throughout the day and not allowing myself to get fully hungry helped a ton. The snack lineup will change though, as your taste for certain items will change quickly. I also love this ginger tea: Traditional Medicinals Organic Ginger Herbal Leaf Tea, 16 Tea Bags (Pack of 6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009F3S7I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_v6cyFb0R3GE41
Feel good, mama. Second trimester is a cakewalk comparatively. You can do it!
