Disclaimer: I do not find joy in the circumstances I am about to describe. Having said that, I am experiencing minor Schadenfreude in the “I told you so” sense. My ex-wife, who told my kids that the vaccine will turn people into zombies (srs), got the results of her PCR test yesterday and confirmed she has Covid. She has been laid up in bed since Thursday and is miserable. Meanwhile, I got a positive PCR result but am entirely asymptomatic. I do hope she makes a quick recovery.
Trying to buy a house. Didnt prequalify for mortgage loan from chase - their credit score requirements have become stringent because of covid. Mine is 680. They need 700 min. Any other banks that might have more lax reqs? Any experiences folks can share?
How long did it take to get tested for COVID at citymd? Are you required to be a nyc resident? Asking because my parents are in NJ and all the test sites are unavailable and my dad is feeling a little sick. O2 is at 92.
My friend survived COVID, but is dealing with a lot of pervasive symptoms. Hair loss, intense headaches, tingling sensation etc. She and her boyfriend both had it and won’t be leaving their NY apt for a long time. What can I gift her? Feeling super inadequate and hoping for some good suggestions from this group
Any updates on the Pakistani Covid-19 vaccine?
“A new study suggests that almost half of those hospitalized with COVID-19 have mild or asymptomatic cases.”
Been on a long year+ freelance contract at an agency. Took a much lower hourly rate with the promise of converting to FT staff after 3 months. Due to Covid that timing got pushed (understandably) but I recently learned the FT role is not available until 2022 earliest. Got a new freelance offer after 1 day of reaching out at my regular day rate. What to do?

Great vibes with girl after 2nd date, definite potential for more. However, noticed that she adjusted her age by either 1 or 3 years on dating app, and just confronted her about it. She wrote it off due to Covid year, but I find the lack of honesty and real remorse concerning. What would you do?
I created the biggest rift I’ve ever had in my family when I left mid-covid for my first industry job, moved to a new city, started dating what I thought was the love of my life… only to come full circle. I’m forever the black sheep, got fired from a shit job, this city sucks, and he’s a half ass som’bitch that wasn’t worth it. Humble pie anyone? I’ve got a dump truck load over here… for fucks sake
Back in office and want to lose the covid weight (not much, but I am petite so just feel uncomfortable with the added pounds). Mentioned it to colleagues. Colleague who is in good shape (male) told me a few days ago he could do a program for me, and found a gym close to where we both live for us to go to, Is it weird to go with him? I probably shouldn’t think this but somewhere in my head I am thinking.... do I want to be in gym gear around this guy? Haha
Anyone have experience with bariatric surgery, good or bad? I’m 6’0, currently 270lb (normal range pre-Covid was 220-250lbs) female recently diagnosed with Graves Disease (thyroid disorder) that has me swinging hormonally all the time affecting my mood and emotional coping skills, metabolic hunger signals, energy levels etc. I’m interested in a consultation and feeling bariatric surgery may a tool to provide some “bumpers” on my weight situation. Interested in others experience here!
My school now has rapid result Covid tests so we can test the students (with parental consent). I’m wondering how many other schools have the same option.
Any insight on Hilton’s Legal team (work culture, hours, flexibility, morale, upward mobility, etc.)? Considering making a move. I am very happy at my current company but underpaid (company politics are taking precedent) Seems like a decent opportunity but I am concerned about morale, among other things, given the 2020 Covid layoffs.
What "hard truths" or insights has the coronavirus crisis revealed about your own firm and our larger industry? Let's be pretty open and honest here.
Has anyone made the move from a modern vehicle to buying something older and less practical due to their decreased commute or need for a vehicle due to covid? If so, what’d you get and are you happy with the decision?
How do bonuses work if you took parental leave during the year? Do hours get prorated or do you still need to hit the normal threshold?
For JHI....what is your school/classroom policy on cell phones? We have a policy but it’s not really followed so each teacher does their own thing. It’s a nightmare!

I’m miserable at my job but want to wait it out until I take an upcoming vacation in July. Is it stupid that I’m not looking for jobs when I’m completely bored, uninspiring and irritated everyday?
My current job doesn’t offer free health insurance but they’ll pay up to 60%. I’ve never looked for health insurance but wondering where I can find the best coverage?
So I am looking at data from Levels.fyi and the comp for Lyft devs is MASSIVE but I haven't seen any of it!
Sibling has two internship offers. Accenture Consulting Development program vs KPMG CIO Advisory. Can anyone give advice on which to pick?
I'm looking to get into an ER mid leadership role with an international company (I want to investigate, travel and I speak Portuguese fluently), but I'm having a hard time breaking in. I'm overqualified. I'm an attorney who practiced employment law before my now 7 years of inhouse HR. My skills are a great asset for an ER role, but I'd be reporting to someone with less education, which I don't mind. But recruiters think they do. Any advice from my senior HR pros?
I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?
I have a GRE from a few years ago equivalent to a 750 GMAT. Quant is the only section where I lost points. At this point, is it worth attempting a marginally higher score on the GMAT, esp quant?
