Sounds like you're more than applicable for a raise. I would just set a one-to-one with your boss or manager and bring up having taken on more responsibilities. Or mention that you're currently taking on a totally different role, and would like to discuss compensation that's more in line with the new position.
I had a one on one yesterday when the new changes were explained but it was only long enough to discuss that and I didn’t get the chance to bring it up then- just don’t want to look like an idiot asking for another 121 and asking about compensation. This is the first time this has happened to me and I don’t know where to begin with the conversation, to steer in a direction to ensure commensurate pay
For more context- 3 weeks after start date I absorbed a few more responsibilities, and then yesterday I am now doing my original job plus the role of the person who transitioned to the other department. 2 major changes in less than 2 months! Boss does not want to replace the position I have absorbed and did not mention that I would now be making more in line with the major job description/position change
So you mean you are no longer doing the job you were initially hired for but the job of the other person? You should bring this up and talk to your manager. If they want you to continue in that role, you should ask for a raise.
You should definitely bring this up to your manager. You have signed up for a different role with particular set of responsibilities. If it is not within the scope of your work and they refuse to hire someone for it, then they better provide additional compensation.
Bring data on what sort of salary is appropriate for those skills and responsibilities (not necessarily just the job title). You are doing the job of two people, and they likely know this and will not want to lose you. But, keep in mind a lot of companies are under pressure financially right now so be reasonable
Well, if it's been close to a quarter, I'd say now is as good a time as any. Be expected to hear excuses about financial stress on the company, etc. though.
