How things work is they’d staff a US Associate.
I have no doubt about it. But McKs always wave the "international opportunities" thing so I guess it's common for you guys or work cross-continent isn't it? If so I'd guess the procedure is highly standardized regarding to travel back and forth on long distance flights.
It’s probably less common than you think at entry levels, but not impossible. No one will force you to do a project that far away, however. Frequency of traveling back will depend on the project and what you negotiate. I was based in London and on a project in Chile and allowed to travel back or to anywhere else every weekend if I wanted to. On a project in Africa, I could travel wherever I wanted in Africa and expense flights, hotels, and meals every weekend if I didn’t want to go back to London (and I’d negotiated the ability to expense flights to North America on weekends too if I wanted).
What type of work were you doing? Joining Mck London soon

It’s uncommon to do weekly flights, maybe a flight every 2-4 weeks and you stay at that location for a while. Some people just alternative travel to other countries for fun on weekends instead. Even the entire three months if you want and don’t have a need to go homes. International projects are rare though for us and even more-so post Covid. So it’s all hypothetical…
Thanks BCG1, what office are you at?
