Hoping to get in touch with #Peraton recruiter! I have about 9 months left in Air Force where I work in cyber defense and vulnerability management, have a BA in cybersecurity, sitting for CISSP and have lots of certs. Would love to chat with someone about opportunities. Hold a clearance and could technically start in 7 months. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you.

Most big firms have government contracts, playing up your accomplishments and skillsets are important to a private firm. I like the change of pace, and depending on your team you can work with various clients.
Thank you for the insight! The recruiter seemed excited about my experience so I’m considering the shift-just nervous about leaving the security of the fedgov.
Additionally, this consulting firm has only been on business for about 5 years so it’s a big bank on “hoping” that they can retain me with some longevity at the salary they’re offering.
It’s a very interesting talent market right now, I get the concern about longevity. I’d say take the leap if you are pretty financially secure. Once you get into the consulting space it’ll definitely open up more doors for you if something does infact happen. Think about the non-salary benefits you enjoy about being a fed, align those to what the company offers and see how they stack up. Think about what type of experience/exposure you are looking for, does this give you that, ask about what types of clients they serve etc., will it be a step down in level and if yes does that matter to you, Pretty much don’t focus too much on salary as that’s just one data point, look at the whole picture.
Awesome advice and thinking points, thank you so much!
