I would tell you that this is a test most folks face when they level up. The ones who get it will come around, and the rest might’ve only vibed with you when things were easy. I leaned into respect over popularity when I hit that moment. If the friendships are real, they’ll adapt. If not, maybe it’s time to grow past the party crew.
Drop the need to be liked and focus on leading.
I honestly haven't experienced this. Maybe it's because I'm just an assistant manager, but I feel like my team pretty much treats me the same. And I'm still going out with them, even though sometimes I have to give them a hard time if they're partying too much and then opening the shop the next day. WE're all buds though so it works
Things like that can happen. It's just a downside of getting too close to people at work. I mean, it's nice to socialize and party and all that, but some people really get annoyed if someone from the group gets promoted. It's an argument for staying aloof from the late-night crew.

It’s just part of the job. I wouldn’t really think too much about it and keep working on leveling yourself up. If the others really like you, then they’ll stay your buddy, but if they’re jealous, let them go their own path.
To quickly put it I think the hardest part is figuring out the right distance. I didn’t have to do it internally in a building, but stepping forward to a role at my age or then I was above people of the same age, figuring out how to blend a social factor along with a professional demeanorand letting loose is included, but yeah, you struggle with it all the time and I think that is one of the most disappointing things about moving forward as you lose options of friendship with that, but they can still hundred percent happen it’s just you have to push a little bit further to get there
