Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Big company. They probably have no idea of the connection. Joined up HR databases are a myth.
Not just a big company, advisory and consulting are different companies altogether.
get the money and title, hope it works out for ya!
Why wouldn't they hire you again if you were laid off for no other reason other than lack of work. This is a business transaction - you may have the skills they need and they are willing to hire you again for those skills. End of story
Why would you go back and work for a company that laid you off?
OP, I waa laid off from a firm, and I'm actively looking at getting back with them, once they have a role available. I don't see how this is any issue. If you get the pay and title you want, nothing else matters
I would never go back to an employer that laid me off. Never been in the situation, but wouldn’t do it.
Oh feelings...
Caution. I have worked in both Consulting and Advisory. Advisory is much better.
You make sensible arguments. Unfortunately, the pay disparity is well documented in the Deloitte bowls and in the long run we're all dead.
Both advisory and consulting are big places. I would avoid generalizations, as cultures and norms vary greatly from team to team, client to client and even project to project.
I was actually curious about this being laid off recently
Were you laid off due to lack of work in your area or performance?
Oh well then it wouldn’t count against you.
someone will ask why you left/come back in your final round...
You are trying to join when D is in the news and middle of the lay offs, watch out
Some offerings are shedding staff, but others are hiring more. Sweeping statements don't do justice to complicated contexts, which big organizations are
