Was Laid Off without a PIP but with strong positive reviews and delivering quality work. Ashamed of how EY Leadership is throwing dirt on it's laid off employees by emphasising layoffs were "Performance Based". Mean, Stealthy and Dishonest, COVID has exposed the dirty, selfish leadership mindset. To my colleagues laid off, its the failure of the business not your caliber as professionals. Don't let this mess with your self respect and self esteem. More power to all of us.

Boyfriend has seemed to be dropping a ton on me lately, even after I got bad news that my company is t doing so hot this week and layoffs are approaching. First it was that we may be moving to another state for his job, then it was that his brother may need to move in with us for a few months after he graduates

I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc.

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident). I just got told they’re firing me. Should I expect severance? Have other people been fired for similar? What did you do with your career?
