PLA isn't strictly leveled so it varies by team and by individual. Generally they're paid 15-30% less than core (not accounting for present comp fluxes).
They are not eligible for CT MBA sponsorship but do have the normal employee education benefit.
Progression is very similar to core CT but it's much more challenging to make partner. The biggest difference is that PLA is not up or out, so you can stay in level if you're not fit for promotion but are performing well.
Average WLB is a bit better, but it can be just as bad as core CT on the craziest cases.
In Central Europe, comp von Con and SCon (PLA) level can be the same to A and C (Core) if you are at the end of PLA salary bands. As of manager / PL that does not hold true anymore and from my experience the differences are more like 10-20%.
Edu leave of absence is currently in discussion to be implemented at PLA as well.
With the introduction of TDA, PLA consultant can make partner in the future. Requirements, etc are not clear / outlined yet.
WLB is the same if you are staffed on mixed projects with core, for example (which increasingly often is the case). This is (usually) One BCG team and PLA doesn’t leave earlier because of lower salaries, especially if work is not done. Just my opinion.
There is no partnership at Platinion..
MDP path is opening up Jan 1 with TDA @BCG1
Platinion is going away. Full path to partner
PLA for NAMR is going away, things will change.
Right now we're paid a little less for a little less work. Gonna be way more work than D but significantly higher pay
