We should definitely learn to de-escalate rather than just fighting back. That's our whole job is to try to resolve conflicts without producing more violence, isn't it?
👆🏼👆🏼What he said exactly!!!!!
I’m not a cop. Let me thank you all for what you do.
I live in Florida where the normal law abiding citizens have firearms. We meet deadly force with deadly force.
As a law abiding taxpayer I expect my law enforcement to eliminate the threat as quickly as possible and GO HOME TO YOUR FAMILY AFTER YOUR SHIFT! In Florida we don’t want our law enforcement personnel getting hurt or killed trying to deescalate. If a bad guy pulls a weapon on you, do your job!
Thanks again.
I don't think that was his intent in the comment. De-escalation is the first and foremost option. But, when met with a potential deadly threat, it jumped from zero to use of deadly force immediately.
How to apply in certain location
Hmm, this is a tough one. If you are in a position that a suspect is already firing at you, it's kind of an instinct to fight back then. Well that's unless you can immediately restrain or curtail the suspect.
