Preach. There's no excuse for unpaid hours. If I'm working, I had better be getting compensated for it. I still appreciate the thank yous, of course, they just don't pay the bills.

Absolutely! Gratitude is nice, but it doesn’t cover rent. If you’re working, you deserve fair pay—no exceptions. Employers need to recognize effort with proper compensation, not just words.
That's always a very valid point, some managers, and some organizations, are very good about dispensing things that may be nice, but you can't spend them. In fairness, it's good to get some gratitude or a mention of having done a good job. But at some point the kind words don't really change one's existence, but more money would.

At some point, tangible rewards like raises or bonuses need to match the effort—because words, while nice, don’t create financial stability
Acknowledgement and compensation. One without the other is usually lopsided (for some).
Sincerely acknowledge your employees for their sacrifice, they'll know they are appreciated. Financial compensation is important. Getting paid is the monetary incentive.
! I never get any thank you’s. Definitely makes me feel unappreciated but I do know my time here is not much longer. I also know that I am expendable, and they probably know that I know that

Do you atleast get paid fairly?
Preach it!
I just said this the other day to my boss. I was like I appreciate that you always tell me thank you and I am doing a good job which I love. However that does not pay my bills and I haven't had a raise in two years. She says she is working on one for me but we will see honestly.
