What activities could my parents do with my 3 month old?

Background: This is their first grandbaby and the first time that they are meeting her due to COVID. They are coming for two weeks while I transition back to work and are staying in an Airbnb close to our apartment. We live in LA. Just trying to get some ideas! :)

At that age, the babies can’t do much as you know! 💕 I’d recommend nice stroller walks, signing songs, reading books and maybe playing with some water toys. Wouldn’t recommend going out to many public places due to parents age and age of the babe. If you’re parents are active, strap the baby to one of them and have them head on a nice light breezy hike.

👆🏻this. 5-month old mom here in San Francisco. We also used botanical gardens for a more contained walk and green space to spread out if you are concerned about city social distancing. Grandma and Grandpa also did a lot of baby reading and singing during down time.

They will be surprised how the day flies when they’re taking care of a little one. They might need to nap! 😉

So true!

They will be so content to just sit and watch the baby lay on the carpet and wiggle. And tot hold and feed.
Sure, go for a walk, but nobody needs actual entertainment.

So, the CDC removed the Covid guidelines. I’ve never had Covid. I’m afraid people will come into work not wearing a mask and be inconsiderate… ughhh so distracting and disgusting. I’m also at risk to develop complications. Not sure if I should talk to HR. Not even sure if I should ask for accommodations to continue being able to wfh at least most days of the week to reduce risk. Idkkkk 😩This is so unprecedented. I always wear my mask at work. I’m getting pressured to attend firm events as well

Apparently, you can get COVID partying in the Ozarks. Now we have to see the actual extent of the spread.

Originally from Italy, I've been out to anyone at my former jobs in Europe without ever worrying about the reactions of my coworkers. Now I'm Asia and just started a new job, but one of my colleagues (also an expat) made a very weird statement about gay people having more chances of developing cancers (?!?!?), so I feel a bit skeptical about talking about my private life... The problem is that anybody else seems to be so welcoming and open-minded, except for this one guy. Any advices?

Never tell your wife to calm down. That won’t go well for you.

Instead, turn it into a question like “does someone need a time out?” Much less confrontational that way.

My gf and me call each other everytime we have free time. However lately she seems disinterested in phone time. She never initiates calls anymore and she tells me she wants to hang up in the middle of the day and not right before bedtime. We live a 4 hour drive apart. And I told her this is like living together from a distance, because I put her on the house speakers. What can I do to keep her engaged?

Growing up was rough. On my 8th birthday my dad had an accident that led to this death a few days later. He was a good man who took care of us all (I had 3 siblings now 2; lost 1 few years ago). I'm in a good place in life right now I only find myself in the last 5years shedding a tear once a while when I'm alone. It startles me because I was a tough kid who didn't cry and just soaked it all in and rolled with it. I'm almost 40 and can't explain what's happening with these tears.

I might get roasted for asking such a basic question but - how much do you budget for eating out ($ amount or % of budget)?

Pre pandemic I was traveling 5 days a week and just used left over per diem on the one night I went out with friends at home. During covid I stayed home. Now that I’m fully vaccinated and are many of my friends they want to go out to eat/drink. During covid I moved from a LCOL to here so I’m experiencing delayed sticker shock at the prices. Any tips?

I feel like a failure as a parent at times - my youngest daughter is extremely anxious about middle school and in the first week has already had two emotional breakdowns. She is so worried about people picking on her and not having friends. I have reached out to the counselor and principal with hopes to get her some support in school, but I can’t do anything to make it better. I feel like I should be able to do more than encourage her but I know some battles she had to fight on her own.
