My CCTC is 21 LPA ( 19 fixed) and I put my expectations as 27 LPA (30 percent hike on Current CTC), YOE- 5.8 years till now and then need to serve 3 month NP ( till joining 6 years)

Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks

There is a lot of different tech stacks. I would say for them to mess around with some of them and see which one they like and then get good at it. In terms of breaking in. 1. Temper expectations, but stay hungry. They probably won’t get a 100k+ job starting off. That ok. The main thing when starting out is experience. They shouldn’t bulk at jobs just because the pay is low or lower than their friends. The experience gained can quickly change that.
If you are in the U.S, despite all the things going on with gov jobs, it is still a very good way to break in. Whether it’s city, state, or federal, tech is something the government does not always ramping up. They also have opportunities to acquire security clearances which open a whole new catalog of tech jobs. A lot of them also offer internships.
This is really good - thank you!
Tech is one of the areas where you can quickly work your way up. Tell them not to be afraid to start somewhere low because experience is key! I started as a resident technician at a Staples store. From there I was able to get picked up by a help desk and then progressed through that company up to a Mobility Engineer. Take what they can get for experience and as long as they work hard the rest will come!
Wait that's amazing. How long was your journey from technician to mobility engineer? Did you pursue formal education before/during the process?
If your a woman… don’t age
uhhhh wtf
Thank you
