What age/ stage in your career do you think is the best time to have kids?

Some things you can’t plan and you never know if you’ll have problems getting pregnant so I think the most important thing is to do it when you find the right partner.

likeuplifting

Tbh, I don’t want to have kids, but for others, I think the best time to have kids is when you feel is right. What your gut tells you, whether later in career or early. It’s never too late.

like

Isn't it sad that we women have to ask questions like this. I have no doubt men never look at it like this. If you want children, have them. Make sure you are emotionally in a good place. It is no one else's business.

"Fidelity" it should be mentioned each and every time we notice these trends. It needs to be called out, It is not anything against the OP, it's a commentary about the society and market in which we work and live.

Unfortunately I think the more senior the better.

Less chance of the decision hindering career development if your career is already developed, and you’ll be more valuable to employers so you have more leverage to negotiate and advocate for yourself.

I had mine young (25 and 27) and was married out of college. I finished an MBA (as did my husband at Duke) while we had new babies. I moved up 4 times in my job while pregnant and having children to a top director position. Now today they are graduating and in college, and I am excited to live this new life with my husband with a vacation home and plans to retire early. BUT that is my story. If I didn't have the right person then, my story would be different and I would love that one too. Do what's right for you. There is never a perfect time, and you should live in the moment at home and at work. Do your best in both and don't jeapordize either. Have fun! Enjoy the stages you are in, no matter the age or level.

like

The sooner the better. As you move up you’ll have to be there more. The bigger your kids are the more self sufficient they are. Kid is sick at 4 you have to call out. Kid is sick at 14 you can leave them at home.

Never :)

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. I had kids young at 24 and 26 and I love it but It also set me back in my career as a woman but then again my career is a way to survive, my family is life so it's not a big deal to me. I didn't want to be late 50's-60's when my kids were graduating. But I could have also used a bit more emotional maturity that I have now. But I wouldn't change it for me. You're life path will look different and that's ok

Freeze your eggs! I did and it was the best decision I ever made. You can wait until older then with no stress.

likesmart

Next time someone informs me that freezing embryos is better, I would like to ask them to bring me the sperm of the man I will be having kids with so I can freeze them. I don’t understand why people feel the need to point this out: if I had the guy and the sperm I wouldn’t need to freeze in the first place! Sheesh. 🙄@Bloomberg1, can you bring me the sperm of the guy I will be having kids with in the future so I can freeze embryos?

Whenever YOU feel like you’re financially ready + have a GREAT support system.

Whether it’s husband, partner, family and friends.

like

I think it's not so much about your age or stage in your career, but about what material conditions you've secured for yourself. I'm not planning on having any children until I'm a homeowner. I want to make sure that my kids will ALWAYS have a roof over their heads no matter what.

like

have kids young if you have a supporting partner, friends and family. otherwise, wait until you can afford paid help.

like

Whenever you want to have them!! Had my first when I just turned 27

Not anytime soon lol. I've always envisioned having kids at a point where I feel relatively settled in my career and have a good support system in place. I want to be able to give my kids the time and attention they deserve without feeling like I'm constantly stressed about work or finances.

When you feel as though you can financially manage adding a kid to your family. Not being stressed about affording the diapers or formula or extra doctor visit because it might be an ear infection be you just aren’t sure or whatever you need is really nice.

I really ruined things with the most beautiful girl that’s ever liked me before. I still very much like her but she doesn’t anymore. She said I was asking too much of her during the talking stage (after 1 month, I wanted to talk to her more besides only our weekends - she never texted/called).
Do I try again and give her more space or do I move on? I think she might open up more but just takes time which I didn’t give her

My dad who lives in Asia just announced that he had a medical issue. I’m starting to enter the age where I’m going to take care of him financially. It’s a $2,000 hospital bill which in the US is nothing compared to what it represents there (which he can’t afford). He’s going to be fine! Just wanted to share with this group as many of you can understand what it feels like to support your parents when they’re old, not the other way around. I feel so blessed I can help him. 🙏🏽

I had a crush on a girl. It's been almost 2 years since I confessed my feelings to her and today she told me that she likes me too.
The only issue is she's a Muslim and I'm a Hindu. She believes we don't have a future and that's why she took a long time to confess. She is confused on what to do and even I am confused because things will actually be difficult for obvious reasons.
Please advice on what we should do now.
Should we part ways or should we fight for it?

Sleeping tips??

Ever since Covid I’ve started having trouble sleeping because I dream of attacks happening in various locations (weird I know). I’m normally *very* practical/pragmatic about that sort of thing, and I’m fine again once I wake up, so I’m pretty sure it’s just a reflection of feeling like I can’t control the situation as every time I can’t seem to stop my fiancé from dying no matter what I do :(

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!
