Depends a lot on meeting sales targets... what is the practice?
These practice roles can be anywhere from the figurehead of a staffing company to more of your traditional SM/ partner role where you sell and deliver consulting work.
Without giving away too much, it would a strategy offering around a particular type of technology that is critical to clients in several industries. Sorry if its vague, it's a small firm and folks can figure out what im talking about. I would be responsible for building it from scratch because slalom doesnt offer this.

Would this be a national offering with Slalom Seattle or with a local market?
Initially local but eventually national

I’d be cautious about how successful this offering could be just in your local market.
Slalom is a franchise model with each office managed independently. There is very little collaboration between offices so I wouldn’t count on being able to scale beyond your local market.
So would a national offering need to be based in HQ? Are there no national offerings based in a major city in the middle of the US? They would want me to start local because i have a rolodex in this market that opens a key vertical but this vertical is national and there will be opportunities on both coasts.
I'm very close to partner at my firm but the WLB is killing me and my specialty is not as valued as it would be at Slalom. Trying to decide if a jump makes sense.

I don’t think anyone will care where you are based for a national offering.
Sounds like you are talking to Slalom _build or some other HQ folks versus a local market so that’s good.
The piece that might be tricky is coordinating with the local market(s) and figuring out how to scale up resources. I think you should pursue it, but just want you to be aware that Slalom’s model is very different than the big firms.
