What are everyone's thoughts on using metallic gold, navy, and mauve for a brand's color scheme? Too much?

Metallic gold is a challenge for most non RGB applications.

Meaning if it’s not on a screen, and is in ink, gold is tough.

Agree with above - I wouldn’t touch metallic as it could be limiting your use of it. Otherwise, it’s fully dependent on the desired brand tone

Agree about the metallic. Seems quite millennial-coded too. I can imagine a Target planner with this exact color scheme geared towards millennial moms in the suburbs. If that's your target audience, that's great, but I'm not sure I see it having broad appeal

It would be too much for some brands, maybe not enough for others. Good point to consider all the mediums you’ll be using and making sure it translates to each one appropriately. That is the hard thing, it can look amazing on one thing, but get completely lost on another and then doesn’t match up well.

Honestly, metallic gold and other metallic colors don’t look good and print. At least not the way you think they’re gonna work. They really pop in digital and done right but I think you want to see it and print first cause it doesn’t come great I think you want to be. Navy is nice. I don’t know about Mom though. It’d be an interesting color combination to seal together.

Don’t think it’s a matter of “too much”. Think percentages. If the metallic gold is just a highlight color for an accent, then it might have worked.

Problem here is that it’s your only highlight color. You’ve got very dark blue, washed out purple, and gold. Can’t make the mauve any lighter or it will cease being a real color. Can’t
make it any darker, because of the Navy, so it’s wasted.

I don’t think the gold is the problem. I think it’s the mauve. And gold says luxury and expensive. Is that what you want?

Figure out which color you want as a primary brand color and build from there.

Personally I love those colors and think they would go really nice together but it does depend on the brand and how they want to be represented if that makes sense. There are definitely brands that wouldn't be good with that color scheme.

It often feels like a MCOL area but I’m not sure how to adequately judge that, and it would be helpful to know when comparing salaries and the like.

Any tips on how to deal with this…my entire team was let go today (was 5, now just me). My plan moving forward is to only focus on the top revenue driving product launches for now and say “no” to basically everything else. Would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation and can offer some advice.
