Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

Lol no it depends on team and studies. I'm certainly not responsive at midnight every night and wouldn't think that's a reasonable expectation. My EMs poor organization is not my issue.

I’m on my third study at the firm and have not worked a single minute between 6pm Friday and 8am Monday
3 years in and I’d say about 8a-11pm with a 1-2 hour break in btwn - I think this is fairly standard for my peers & throughout my time here. There was a similar bowl q on this and that seemed like the average too (of course fluctuates both lighter and heavier w the study)

Wife is at Mck and we both average 60-70 hrs per week too.
It is usually 9am-8pm. Then add 10-12pm some days.
You’d be surprised to how much B.S. your body gets used to. The first 1-2 months are painful then it’s business as usual.

If you think short term, the diff between MBB and B4 is not that large (in undergrad level for example). But the gap widens as you become more senior.
I’ve noticed that in the medium term MBB pays off big time, and the exit opportunities are also significantly better.
But the balance between Money and WLB is a personal equation that you will need to figure out on your own. How much are you willing to give up for a higher salary?
Can people elaborate more on the culture? Is it truly cutthroat and is job security always at risk at the junior levels?
Job security is pretty strong until you reach AP I’d say
