Usually if its posted on job board there is no need for a recruiter. Recruiters are usually only used when job isnt posted or if the company hires one to help.
The benefit is access to opportunities that may not be public. However, I wouldn’t use a recruiter for any in-house job that’s publicly listed. With the exception of some larger companies, most companies aren’t as willing as firms are to pay a hefty recruiting fee. If you’re applying through a recruiter, you instantly become more expensive than candidates who applied directly.

Does anyone have any recs for in-house recruiters?
The recruiter works for the employer not you
Devils advocate here lol. It depends on the company and their internal recruiters, i.e. experience looking for legal talent. I’ve worked plenty of roles with big companies, that have a posting up but still need our help if they aren’t finding the right person. They will always rely on internal resources before coming to us.
Lastly, most hiring managers aren’t footing the bill for a placement fee. They don’t care where you come from just if you’re the right fit.
