Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. Hello People,
I received a verbal offer letter from Oracle. I said yes and things moved on. BGV was initiated as well. BUT, Yesterday I received a call from the hiring manager that Oracle is putting hiring freeze, so they are not able to release offer letter as 1 approval was still pending from the VP. He said I will be contacted once freeze is over. Do you think I still have any chances of getting in once the freeze is lifted and how long the freezes are in Oracle ? Oracle

One of the most competent process architects I work with has double sleeves tatted up. I work for a well known fintech company and it’s part of the game.
I like to say, competence usually comes with a dash of weirdness and or eccentricity, take it in a warm hug
When do you work at? 1982?
Honestly no one cares internally, the only time where it may be considered as a negative is if you are client facing in more traditional accounts. But if you work with other tech startups… they also don’t care.
I do and no one really cares around me, also its been a trend for sometime now to see tattoos as a piece of art instead (unless yours represent something like being part of a violent gang). I used to hide mines (both arms almost fully covered by ink) in my previous job and that made me feel really unconformable with myself. My advice is, wherever you go, if you have to hide it, that is not the right place for you to be. You are part of a workforce that is valued by the power of their minds, not by the way you look so train your mind to be as smart as possible and forget about the ink you have in your body. At the end that will count against your success only if you let it to happen.
Google doesn’t care about them. I have 14 visible. To my knowledge none of the big tech companies do
Doubt any company really cares
I worry that mine might look unprofessional but I do wear sleeveless during job interviews so they know. Tbh I think I’m more concerned that anyone else
I wear a T-shirt in interviews so it's visible even then. No one cares.
I don’t even think we have one… not that I’m aware of anyway. Lol. I have tattoos and a facial piercing.
Rising Star
Depends on the role and the industry. As a senior leader, I must present a professional albeit relaxed appearance. So no visible tats for me. The only industries that won’t allow you to have visible tats would be client-facing banking, airline, and healthcare…because you wouldn’t trust you money or your life to someone who does not look trustworthy.
What? You wouldn’t trust your money or your life to someone with tattoos? So if a doctor or nurse or paramedic was trying to help you and had tattoos you’d be like “NO! You’re untrustworthy!” Ludicrous, lol. Lots of rich investors and entrepreneurs are great with money and have tattoos so that is also an unwise way of deciding who knows about money. Just typical old-fashioned judgmental bs which thankfully I don’t encounter at my current or past employers so far.
By the way I have 0 tattoos, but I think people should be allowed to have them without judgment.
In tech I feel like no one judges tattoos negatively. At least that’s been my experience so far
These are all helpful, thank you!!!
It shouldn't matter mine doesn't always show but when it does it is more a curiosity for people who don't have any than a work problem.
The trend is definitely moving toward it being widely accepted, especially in tech. I would caution you, though, just proceed slowly with certain companies, as a lot of larger companies can be pretty conservative, and a lot of them have desirable positions available. All my tattoos are covered normally, so it's not been a concern for me, but there are definitely companies out there that aren't quite as accepting of some things still.
