I focus on region when just looking for something at a lower price point. Lots of great wines for under $15. I’m a big fan of wines from Willamette, Rutherford, or Russian River - especially Pinot noirs from those areas. If you can find any from those areas under $15 then it’ll prob be decent. White wines - I really like New Zealand Sauv Blanc. Most are outstanding in the $15 range. There’s tons of great rose under $15. I don’t drink too many other kinds of white, so can’t offer much assistance there. I tend to stay away from all cheaper Cabs. I find you usually need to spend $45+ for a solid cab, however, that doesn’t mean I’ve had really great affordable cabs. I just find that they’re harder to come by.
Maison Brotte Charles Brotte Grand Vallon Syrah
Los Ailos Syrah-Malbec
Hangtime Pinot Noir
La Pena de Espana Tinto
All are under $15
You can normally find good riesling under 15
FACT. And since I'm absolutely 💯 NOT a fan of Pinot (anything), I love finding a good Riesling
Just go to the either your wine or grocery store and look for a variety that is either priced for closeout or on special. Everyone has different taste and you'll likely pick up a few that you enjoy. Just toy around a bit and you'll find your sweet spot.
