I think the work they were doing was starting to give the brand a bit of personality. Maybe that’s why they got fired.
My take as a somewhat insider in all of this is:
1. CCO wasn’t loved by TD brass. He bet on the CMO that was fired and didn’t build bridges outside of her.
2. Ogilvy CSO left under tragic circumstances. TD like him and he basically wasn’t replaced.
3. TD liked the working team but didn’t feel a commitment from Ogilvy brass…and Ben at Leo is relentless.
That adds up to an L for Ogilvy. All the people that worked on it, for what it’s worth, it wasn’t about you. Chins up.

Personal stuff.
TD did to Ogilvy what Roger’s did to Sid Lee. Big clients are a double edged sword. They can completely gut a place if you’re not careful. Sid Lee has been showing signs of life lately after a rough few years, feels like Ogilvy has a long bumpy road ahead.
That Battlefield work was amazing, the Sabrina Carpenter work was a lot of fun, Tennis Canada was beautiful (though not world changing). That in a few months is better than almost every agency in town.
Is there an article link. I missed This news. Major

Was the straw the fake Roomba pulling the curtains down?
He did, but I think he left when he saw the writing on the wall and didn’t want to get blamed for it. He only left a few months ago.
