What do associates at VC firms make?? In Toronto… I’ve got 4 years of exp at MBB consulting & currently a product manager at a startup

If all the top consulting firms made anonymous decks or gave anonymous pitches to a client, eg no branding and the client did not know which firm made which deck, do you actually think that the client would prefer MBB?  Is MBB actually coming up with better/more innovative solutions? I feel like I see many repeat or slightly altered solutions on almost all of my cases, are these really things that people at Deloitte/Accenture etc aren’t coming up with?

What is the current way of working at MBB firms in London with COVID? Do you go into the office much? Do you still get the occasional office outing/fancy dinner etc? Is it purely work from home? From someone considering transitioning from IB to consulting because of how mind numbingly boring wfh has become and how much I know MBB look after their people.

So I have two offers on the table : Tuck vs Yale SOM. I am getting 40k scholarship from Tuck and nothing from Yale.

I'm planning on going into consulting afterwards and am not sure what school to attend. I know Tuck's group oriented teaching is slightly more geared towards consulting.

What has been making me hesitate is the global presence of what Yale has in its name.

Would you say Yale has almost equal chance of getting into MBB as Tuck?

I work in marketing within a small team. Just myself, my manager and a part time designer that I personally manage. My manager doesn’t seem to do much work. Junior partner at a specialist boutique consulting firm (compete w/ MBB primarily in our verticals) with prior experience in PE on both deals and ops side, and corp dev. My career here is pretty stable and money is good enough without killing myself (500k+ cash) but I miss being an investor vs an advisor.

Is there any path back to GE/PE at this stage? My gut says no unless it's a firm where I have a client relationship and I get lucky but hard to broach the subject given dynamics. Any advice?

PE case study - I have 4 days to complete. Was given two CIMs to choose from and making investment recommendation. For modelling, are they expecting me to simply use the CIM forecast for LBO analysis? Or should I be doing more work like coming up with drivers that get to the CIM numbers as a base case with ability to flex downside / upside cases? Assuming the former but want to make sure I’m not missing the mark here (no guidance provided on this).

I've been busting my ass trying to interview prep to transition from T2 consulting (EYP, S&, LEK) to UMM / MM PE but it seems like many 🐠 are unhappy with the constant grind / no WLB...
