Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

Product management is a pretty senior role in traditional industry, which sadly new tech has started handing out to fresh college grads. Dell is a product company, and this sounds like the traditional product management role which I don’t think is a consulting M exit level.
With the caveat that I know nothing of Dell’s levels, I would assume that level role at a company like Dell would expect some years of product management leadership experience. Newer Big 4 managers might get onto a PdM team if they have experience with it or be product manager for a small product or portfolio.

OP - I think I know who you may be referring to in this example. Yes C exited to a director role. I have a couple of explanations for this. Firstly he was a sharp consultant who was generally well liked by those he worked with. Had very good support and rapport with senior leadership also. Plus the firm sponsored his graduate program. In this instance I believe his network really came thru for him, and he’s landed in a good spot. I have worked with him in the past, and can say that his performance and client rapport put him in the higher performance pool.

Highly unlikely
Lol
It's not for me. Saw someone who did it and was shocked ...
I saw someone exit to that role after one and a half years as a M and hence, got curious..
That person was a homegrown D. No outside experience
