I went for an AD role and showed up looking biz casual a la trendy fashion blogger style with trendy Nike Cortez’s and i got complimented multiple times by randoms at the office. It’s super millennial/gen z and relaxed
And i just want to say that my despite my effort to look chill i was still the most dressed up at the office and i was very close on getting an offer but something else turned up (but everyone is awesome and If I could clone myself for the dual income i would of sent a clone there)
I would go for a cool fitted blazer maybe a nice j crew velvet blazer, some high waited trousers, a white blouse and cool sneakers.
Sneakers and dress is biz casual to me now. Especially for a place like vice. I wear sneakers to client meetings too so I wouldn’t worry about it. The most important thing in an interview is that you feel comfortable and like yourself!
I always go with black jeans now and a nicer black top (it’s like a half button down) with booties. Not too casual looking but also not formal at all which just aren’t my vibes. Makes me feel like me (but not uptight or unkempt!) so try to wear what makes you feel good and good luck
I’ve got some cool blazers but would wearing them with black slacks and booties be lame?
Are you that worried that the men in the room won’t listen to your ideas because of your shoe choice? If so, Don’t work at that place.
Lol not at all, it’s only that I wear jeans and sneakers on a daily basis.. but I’m not quite daring enough to wear sneakers to an interview
They honestly wouldn’t care. Keep it casual. Avoid J. Crew and its likes at any cost. Plain white or black shirt. Black bootcut and a pair of white common projects
