What do people do to unwind? I am guessing we all spend a lot of time on screens at work, but I confess I have a hard time not sinking into a tv show after a long hard day. I know reading would be better for me… I guess I’m lazy? And outdoors is not an option bc of the weather. Wondering how ppl effectively switch out of work mode.

In the nice weather I try to spend as much time as possible gardening. There's just something about growing things and being away from screens and keyboards. This time of year I try to read more, but I admit I'm often too tired to spend much time on it in the evenings. So I'll listen to music or sometimes watch TV.

My son loves plants. We ‘re in an apartment now, but I’d love to give him a garden one day.

Being lazy after work is something I earned! I do try to mix it up afterwards and have a non-screen hobby. But sometimes binge-watching is just what I need to unwind.

I am a contract employee that was just brought on a month ago. I have done well with onboarding and learning their tech. I have now been asked to design an architecture for an upcoming project, and document it all. Nothing at this company has been well documented before. I have a feeling they just planning to use my previous experience and then let me go since my pay is high. Is there a way I can safeguard against this?

I am serving notice period and in october month salary I haven’t received night shift allowance while other members of team have received it. My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…

I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...

2 months later and I am still waiting...

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? I don’t have my side business listed on my resume because I don’t feel like I have enough positive “stats” to report yet given it’s new. Any advice or recommendations?
