What do recruiters or hiring managers want to see in a cover letter? I have accepted that times have changed and I'm expected to write these things. So, if I'm going to do it, I want my cover letters to actually help me land a job.

Spoke to hiring manager and they even offered another position which matched my skills. Scheduled a full panel interview. Met with the team had a great chat, Founder even said "I guess you can start right away"..Hiring manager calls later says they'll update then boom that generic email hits my inbox. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear after interview (entry level TDP) from Accenture Ottawa.
I gave my interview on Friday and its Tuesday now and I haven’t heard anything from the recruiter.

How can entry-level candidates stand out during the interview process?

I have a friend who was let go a few months into his first job after college (reason: the manager felt like he wasn't grasping the training content to the level that was expected). He's worried about if he should put the experience on his resume anyway, if he does will recruiters ask why he had such a short time at this place, and what will recruiters think if he explains he was let go.
