What do the mid level bonuses at firms like the big 4, Epstein, Seyfarth look like (assuming good work and hours)?

FP’s is formulaic based on the higher of hours and dollars. Starting with dollars, take 3x of your salary. Everything you bill out above that 3x figure you take home 30% of. Alternatively, there’s an hours-based formula where I think it’s $10k for hitting your 1850/2000 hours, and then additional tranches for every 50 hours after that. Whichever method results in a higher number is what your bonus is.

FP can be significant based on your practice, hours, and rate. There are associates in high rate groups making 100k on their bonuses.

FP generally has much larger bonuses than the other Big 4, but I don't know their formula.

From my experience (couple years outdated) Epstein’s ranged from around 10k up to 40k was most I heard of.

These all sound pretty brutal tbh

Relative to big law, sure.

OD is based on hours. $10k at 1900, 5% of salary at 2,000 and +5% for every 50 hours thereafter, maxing out at 2,200 hours for 25% of base

My 64 y/o mom is really struggling with her mental health and refuses to acknowledge it or take action. She is already difficult to have a relationship with, toxic, always shaming, blaming, dismissive and refuses to have important conversations.
6 years ago her husband/my step dad was killed suddenly and tragically. He had a man cave room that she has not touched since. It is beyond filthy, unsanitary and poor living conditions.

If I make attempts to clean, she has a meltdown. How to fix?

Hello, I’m an associate (almost at the one year mark) at a midsize firm on the EPL team. I did about 2 years of employment law as a clerk during school and know that’s what I want to go into. I’ve asked for more EPL work but keep catching PI cases. I second-chaired an employment trial but don’t see any EPL work for the foreseeable future and wasn’t getting as much EPL exposure as I wanted before the trial. Any advice on a lateral move to a bigger firm with a broader range of EPL work?

I’m working at an insurance defense firm, trying to target my practice to L&E. I’m overworked and underpaid, but gaining valuable experience I hope to pivot toward an eventual in-house counsel position. I recently was offered an opportunity to lateral to a national firm for a significant pay increase (150% salary increase, much better benefits, hybrid WFH options). Problem-I would be shifting gears to Toxic Tort. I’m torn between my passion and the money. I’m a second year associate. WWYD?
