NJ Personal Income tax question:
My wife and I file a joint return. We were part time residents in 2020z unfortunately, we both filed our joint tax return. My wife sent via paper and I sent electronically. Any idea what happens now? Can't get ahold of anyone.
To make matters worse - NJ doesn't have a paper part time resident return - so you file a resident and non resident separately. Ours net to a refund but the resident one shows a large amount due and the non resident shows a large cont...

Refund - netting to a small refund. Apparently so far just the resident processed because we received a notice of a large amount due.

Appreciate any help or suggestions on how to fix.

Hey Desi Fam. I am in California but looking to move to the East Coast to be closer to my wife’s and my family as our kids are growing up. Started looking at northern suburbs of Atlanta and that area ticks all the boxes we are looking for - great schools, family based neighborhoods, and diverse population. Are there any Atlanta natives here who can help us narrow down the city and neighborhoods we could target. Would like to buy a medium sized home < $700k. Thanks

I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Inputs appreciated.

For rent paid below 1 lakh there is no need to submit landlord's PAN. I have calculated based on my HRA and if I show rent paid as around 96k my tax refund will be around 13k.

However there is no rent agreement or rent receipts.

Will it be a problem later on if I show this in my ITR?
