If liability is admitted you don’t need a liability expert. As a plaintiff, your damages experts are the plaintiff’s treating physicians absent extraordinary circumstances.
In CA if you don’t call treaters or at least depose them you’ll have hearsay issues under Sanchez.
Their surgeon or some sort of physician. It depends on the injuries. You may need a life care planner or economist too.
Assuming you’re defense side, we just do an IME usually. Occasionally we’ll use a medical billing expert to dispute outrageously high treatment charges (usually from doctors/facilities that are “in on the game”, so to speak)
How severe are the injuries/damages? Could be looking for a life care plan expert.
In addition to medical doctors I would also get a functional capacity evaluation, vocational expert and economist.
Treating physicians, vocational expert and economist, nothing more really

How bad is the property damage and how egregious is the defendant’s conduct?

I use two but some can do both.
Need more information but depending on the nature of the injuries and anatomical parts involved, you may benefit from several medical experts. For example in a brain injury case you may want a neurologist, neuropsychologist, radiologist, psychiatrist, life care planner, vocational rehab expert and an economist to workup and round-out your damages presentation and also avoid being creamed by a slew of the same experts on the defense side.

I’m on the Plaintiff side but just stared doing this.
