Usually one-tier firms that don’t have NEPs

like

Weil
OMM

At Weil though it’s like being senior associate. I interviewed with them.

Covington, typically. But there are no NEPs, so it is a stepping stone to actual partnership.

I know folks have said it already, but really want to emphasize that Latham is doing this to a lot of folks now…

DPW

like

Perkins. But it is the same as being senior associate (7 & 8 years).

Our firm (S&C) recently introduced a NEP tier but the expectation is apparently that you still go through the counsel stage before even getting there…

What is wrong with being counsel?

Man. I want to be partner but idk if I can get there without something that feels like a break.

⬛️◼️◾️▪️Serious question: we are trying to end racism and work towards equality. If I’m a racist, how do people change the opinions and beliefs I’ve had my whole life? Sometimes I feel like we are all yelling at each other about the same thing and I just want to be like “Yo, I agree with you. I’m not the person who you need to have an impact on.” How do you reach the people causing these problems.

AT&T: HBO-MAX is probably top 3 stream platforms along with netflix and disney plus. Despite this AT&T trades at a super low multiple. Is this the next glow-up a la Disney this past month? I think so. They've already got an extensive library and have consistently over 20 years delivered the best shows on TV, period. I understand that the core AT&T business may seem like a "liability" to the valuation but I still think that their valuation doesn't make sense. What am I missing?

Hi Fishes,
I cleared LTI all rounds and in HR discussion we came on mutual agreement for 16lpa .I have 7 years of experience and they gave me Specialist - Data Engineering(P3) role. And we agreed I will join with after 60 as I had to serve 60 days notice period. I was waiting for offer letter and when I received the offer letter I was shocked to see that CTC mentioned was 14LPA and joining date was only 15days from now ,which is way early.

My mental health has taken a nose dive. I’m considering breaking up with my fiancee so she doesn’t have to go through the hassle of dealing with me anymore.

For those who were diagnosed as an adult can you provide some insight into how you were able to obtain a diagnosis. I went to my primary care dr who referred me to another dr who specialized in mental health. He asked me about 5 questions before telling me I should see a neuropsychologist for an official assessment. The referral he gave me is super pricey and apparently isn’t covered by insurance. Is that normal?

I’ve made it 5+ years in a NY M&A practice and have consistent exceeding expectations reviews. I’ve had a few mental breakdowns because of work during this time, but thankfully made it through. I’ve been in a near constant depressive/anxious state for family reasons for the last year and half, and am soon having my first kid. I’m scared shitless that I’ll spiral out of control both at work and at home if something doesn’t change soon. Any suggestions on how to keep this job and keep it together?

How much actual court experience should a junior litigator expect to get in the first year? I've been my firm 6 months as a civil litigator not and have yet to go to a hearing. General corporate in NY looking to lateral into tech transactions at one of the EC/VC firms. I’ve heard that I may get a class cut if I make the move but I’m ok with that. My worry is that EC/VC firms are crazy busy work differently from general corp, I also won’t have control over my hours, and potentially worse based on how billing differs (block billing on a few clients vs having to work with 15 or more startups). Is the same true for tech trans or IP group?
