What happened to BDO audit? I read it received bad bad PCAOB review and lost like 20% of business. Tax also impacted?

Re: tax it mostly impacts ability to get public clients, from a reputation perspective. What I’ve found in discussions with principles, a result of the audit quality thing, is that audits for public companies will almost guarantee review by a regulatory body. Don’t think a public company will find that attractive.

Some ACs are concerned with reputation sure. But many just want lowest cost and BDO will lower fees and they will retain them. Same thing happened with Grant Thornton like 10-15 years ago. One of their clients that had annual revenue of 50mbor under had an 30m plus embezzlement over a few years they didn’t find and my recollection was they didn’t lose clients

It’d be good enough for companies that wanna cheap out from Big4 though

Fair point

I am curious how Onesource Income tax stacks up against it's competition.

In 2015 different governments in the US collected $5,175,829,952,000 to service 321,230,000 people. That’s over $16,000 per person. Anyone else find this shocking?

For those in international tax planning, curious what you all think about the future in light of Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 (on top of beps measures like anti-hybrid rules, interest deduction limitations, etc.). Once companies adapt to the new regime(s) and assuming p1 and p2 are implemented broadly across jurisdictions, curious what type of planning/restructuring work will be of interest to clients post implementation. Short term I assume lots of planning work but curious on post-implementation

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.
